Has The Quartermaine Brain Curse Struck Again-Does Drew Have A Brain Tumor?

Publish date: 2024-04-14

General Hospital: Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison)

General Hospital spoiler and rumors tease the Quartermaine brain curse could have struck again-Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is not himself since returning from Pentonville. Might he have a brain tumor causing all this uncharacteristic behavior?

General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Cain’s Not Acting Like Himself

When Drew first came to Port Charles as Jake Doe, not having any memories, a control chip was found in his brain, which was removed.

That could have left some scar tissue which by this time could have grown into a tumor; even a benign tumor could change personality and behavior, depending on where it is.

Considering his son Oscar Nero (Garren Lake Stitt) died of a brain tumor and his twin Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) once had one, the tendency could be genetic.

Drew is uncharacteristically angry and seems very controlling. He had to hold himself back from beating up Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) and he yelled at Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) over who made the decisions concerning their daughter!

GH Spoilers: Aggressive, Not Assertive

There would be nothing wrong with Drew’s decision to become more assertive, as he discussed with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) about his early return from Australia.

He had spoken of his decision not to be the Quartermaine’s peacekeeper anymore because his family members kept screwing him over, resentment over that building up could be understandable.

General Hospital: Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison)

That is not the problem-Quartermaines frequently need to be put in their place, especially his Aunt Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) and he mentioned Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) in particular.

But Drew’s personality has changed-from laid back and caring to aggressive and angry, so unlike Drew; he wasn’t even aggressive in business matters previously.

And it’s seemingly come about suddenly-he was beaten in prison, but there were no new brain injuries found when tests were done.

General Hospital Spoilers: Symptoms Will Increase

If Drew is acting like this under the influence of a brain tumor, then his symptoms will increase-it may not be fatal like Oscar’s.

It may be benign like Jason’s-both men have had traumatic brain injuries in the past, and now Ned joins that “club” although he’s recovered.

It’s plain that it’s not Drew’s old programming reactivated or he would not have held himself back from becoming physically violent, and he hasn’t been around Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez).

He hasn’t even been around his nephews, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) or Jake Webber (Hudson West). That is not like Drew either-after learning Jake and Charlotte were dating and what happened with her, he’d have been concerned.
